Dominion.News New HQ
Lord_Bones bought the Dominion News building with a handshake agreement from Sapphirecrafty. This agreement stipulated that Lord_Bones is not to change the exterior of the building, not to tear it down and start again. The intention from the start was to find someone to decorate the insides of the building and give them the time, money and creative freedom to make the building shine.

Myrtis was put up to the task. They had completed some interior work for Bones Books, a shop next to Dominion.News, this was then the next step in a working relationship between the two. The old to new shots you are about to see are not exactly was Myrtis had to work with as Sapphire stripped a lot of goods from the build beforehand instead these are before the sale. The original build could have been recreated as it was, but it would have felt like a missed opportunity not to reimagine the overall space.
The insides of the old headquarters to the new one displays the differences in attitude to the work style of the overall paper. The previous paper was a smaller operation, we have taken the concept and multiplied it by 9. With a bigger production come staff and they require a place to work, the den reporters and editors den holds the most office space.
Dominion.News takes care of it's staff providing free lunch and access to a beer fridge for out of hours chill outs. Previously used as a subscriber's lounge this is now an area for our staff to go in off hours and breaks.
Previously the crossword lived on this floor however the advertising manager needed somewhere to work and speak with clients. With more spots to buy we need more space for people to work. The advertisers even get their own coffee maker!
Dominion.News' building is rather weird in shape. When accessing this closet in the underbelly of the ring, it was not surprising to find just storage. Myrtis turned this into an amazing waiting room and perhaps somewhere to read when the editors den gets too loud?
When it came to Lord_Bones office, they really didn't like how cramped it felt. An editor-in-chief needs somewhere to work, somewhere to entertain and somewhere to chill. Mytris pulled this off nicely with the dècor and Trello board.
These headquarters are a great insight into how to use the space you are given within restrictions. The new headquarters are here to stay at least until the server moves over in 1.18 and I'm sure they will be well used. Myrtis did a great job and special thanks to MelonPumpkin with the survival building, Matthijs_B for the coat rack design and Astrogirl for removing some armour stands.
