This shift occurred continually throughout Dominion's shopping district lifetime - just as wood farms growing effectiveness, to the crash in beacon farms after the Nether reset for 1.16. This continual crash in product based earning has clearly soured the taste in many player's mouths, with the price moving from a stack-based price tagging to "by the Shulker".

This constant shift in the market has led the shopping district away from a product economy to a service economy. There are a lot of these service based shops at spawn. Furniture shops are among the nicest to explore. The furniture and design based shops are offering services that differ from physical items in their value. The value of a better-looking sofa or kitchen doesn't precisely have value in the sense of it earning the player any money. It isn't inherently saving them time or effort in the mind of grandiose building. What does achieve is selling Minecraft's creativity for players who want to express themselves in that manner but who have found a glass ceiling for such creative decorating.

Other services include the ender pearl services for teleportation, which offer a pre-built solution for returning to spawn. The ender pearl service inherently attempts to save people time by renting a small amount of shared space and shared responsibility. The services then offered to differentiate oneself are services like potion effects and a quick response to teleportation. The service is evolving and looks like an exciting addition to the district, with new shops springing up.

The most curious are the builders of farms for others to harvest themselves. The district has evolved from selling products to selling the means to acquire them effectively and with great speed. This would appear to conflict with the interest of the builder. Considering the even playing field and the competitive nature of the shopping district, builders for hire seems to be a method of joining in with the destruction of the market price from the ground floor. They are helping people join the competitive market -at an attractive price.
